Ce jeu de données recense les voies de Mulhouse qui ont une dénomination bilingue (français et alsacien). 

Le champ PLAQUE BILINGUE EXISTANTE indique si la mise en place de la plaque bilingue est effective dans la rue.

Dans le cadre de la promotion de la langue et de la culture régionales, la signalétique bilingue, en français et en alsacien, s'est développée à Mulhouse dès le début des années 90 et cela en fait une pionnière en Alsace. Depuis la première plaque bilingue inaugurée pour la rue du Sauvage/Wìldemànnsgàss en 1991, 266 sont installées à ce jour.

Le groupe de travail thématique « Plaques bilingues » de la Dankfàwrìk, commission consultative langue et culture régionales de Mulhouse, mène des réflexions concertées pour élaborer les appellations de chemins, de passages, de rues et de boulevards dans différents quartiers de Mulhouse.

Celles-ci peuvent être des traductions littérales mais également inspirées de l'histoire ou des usages locaux.
